SHOPPERS have been evacuated from Westfield following reports of a fire.

       The shopping centre in East London was emptied just under an hour ago after an alarm sounded.

       It is not yet clear why it has been closed but it is understood there are reports of a fire.

       Stunned shoppers have now taken to social media after being evacuated.

       One said: "Whole of Westfield Stratford has just been evacuated.

       "Fire curtains started coming down everywhere but no sign of fire so far…"

       Another said: "Great now Westfield shopping centre is being evacuated. Today is just a flop."

       While one wrote: "Everyone evacuated at Westfield it’s madnesss."

       Dramatic video showed shoppers gathered at the entrance as security tell them where to go.

       It comes just days after Westfield Stratford was evacuated after a fire broke out.

       Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters raced to the scene of the fire at a retail unit.

       The fire was put under control shortly after.
