KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 751,928 individuals aged from five to 11 year old, or 21.2% of the cohort in Malaysia, have received the first dose of a two-dose Covid-19 vaccine under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids) as of Friday (Feb 25).
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry's CovidNow portal reported that 14,453,640 individuals, or 61.4% of Malaysia's adult population, have received their booster dose while 22,947,671, or 97.5%, have completed their Covid-19 vaccinations. Sine 23,227,035 or 98.7% of the adult population, have received at least one dose of a two-dose vaccine.
For adolescents aged between 12 and 17 years old, a total of 2,800,143 individuals, or 90% of the group, have completed their vaccinations, while 2,892,596, or 93%, have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
A total of 132,371 doses of the vaccine were dispensed Friday (Feb 25), comprising 44,992 as a first dose, 948 as second doses and 86,431 in booster doses, bringing the cumulative number of vaccine doses administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to 66,865,787. - Bernama
