Three people were shot Wednesday near a Green Line station on the South Side.
Shortly before noon, paramedics were called to the intersection of 63rd Street and South King Drive where the victims were shot, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Merritt.
The three, a 73-year-old man, a 51-year-old woman, and a 39-year-old man were all taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where they where their conditions, though serious, had stabilized, said Merritt and Chicago police.
The 73-year-old was shot in the leg, the woman was shot in her back, and the 39-year-old man was shot in the arm, according to police.
The gunman, who was wearing a red jogging suit, fled and was not in custody.
The elevated station is at 400 E. 63rd St., according to the CTA’s website.
