At least three people were injured in an overnight fire Tuesday at an apartment building in the Old Town neighborhood on the Near North Side, officials said.
An extra-alarm fire broke out shortly before midnight at a 4-story building at 1446 N. Wells Street. A 2-11 alarm was called at the scene, Chicago Fire Department officials said.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire that broke out in a fourth floor apartment.
A man and a woman were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for smoke inhalation and were listed in fair to serious condition, officials said.

A second man was listed in good condition at Northwestern after suffering an injury to his ankle. The extra-alarm fire was struck out, and the cause of the fire was under investigation, officials said.
