       KYOTO -- A woman in her 20s in Kyoto Prefecture with no recent overseas travel history has been infected with the coronavirus's omicron variant, the Kyoto Prefectural Government announced on Dec. 23.

       The prefectural government believes that the case is a community-acquired infection.
