PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry has identified 17 new Covid-19 clusters on Friday (July 2), of which nine are workplace outbreaks.
Five clusters have been categorised as community outbreaks, while three are categorised as high-risk group clusters.
The biggest of the new clusters is the KM 85 Mukah cluster in Sarawak, which has 92 confirmed cases so far.
The cluster was uncovered from a targeted screening exercise conducted on workers of an oil palm plantation located along Jalan Mukah-Selangau.
Another new workplace cluster is an outbreak involving workers of a supermarket in Jalan Masjid India in Kuala Lumpur.
So far, 13 people have been confirmed to be infected.
The index case is a 26-year-old woman who tested positive on June 28, after having symptoms since June 23.
Among the new clusters categorised as high-risk groups is an outbreak at a health institute located along Persiaran Mardi in Seri Kembangan.
The cluster was uncovered from a targeted screening exercise involving 340 health workers and staff at the institute. So far, 52 cases were detected.
Nationwide, there are now 877 active clusters.
