The daughter of lockdown hero Captain Tom Moore is under further scrutiny amid backlash over current accusations of misusing money from the Captain Tom Foundation to build a spa complex on the grounds of her home.

Earlier this month, Hannah Ingram-Moore was accused of using the charity’s name to add the spa to an allegedly illegal extension at her £1.2million family home in Bedfordshire.

In a MailOnline exclusive, it has now emerged that Hannah Ingram-Moore has supposedly been using a prestigious award presented to her father, the George HW Bush Award, to promote a company she runs with her husband, Colin.

The Points of Light award was presented to Captain Tom in recognition of his inspiring pandemic fundraising activity where he raised more than £30million for the NHS as it battled the pandemic.

Handed over by Barbara Bush, President George W Bush’s daughter, she said: "Thank you Sir Captain Thomas Moore. What an incredible story and what an incredible life dedicated to service and community. We are fortunate to have your leadership and commitment to stepping up for those in need and hope others are inspired to follow in your footsteps."

On Ms Ingram-Moore’s company website, Maytrix, it reads: "Hannah was thrilled to receive the Award alongside her late father, Captain Sir Tom Moore, for their fundraising efforts during the pandemic."

The family of Ms Bush also acknowledged how focused the veteran was on "helping others".

Responding to the award in the video, Ms Ingram-Moore said: "We've just tried to unite and do the right thing and do the best we can do, and we can do no more. But it has been a life pivot that we've tried to accept and deliver and push back all the love that's been sent to us. We've just done the best that we can."

This comes amid further questions regarding Ms Ingram-Moore's conduct after she was accused of naming the foundation in a planning application at their home.

Ms Ingram-Moore and her husband are appealing against an order to tear down the office annex in the grounds of their house after it emerged they had added a swimming pool and facilities including changing rooms, showers and toilets without permission.

With public anger growing about the claims, a spokesman for NHS Charities Together said: "The Captain Tom Foundation is a completely separate organisation that was established after Captain Tom did his fundraising for our Covid-19 Urgent Appeal and the Charity Commission has made clear that the £38million he raised for NHS Charities Together is not under investigation."

The announcement was seen as a move to avoid collateral damage from the fall-out surrounding the foundation and Mr and Mrs Ingram-Moore's other interests.

Meanwhile, the Charity Commission, an organisation that regulates charities, launched a statutory inquiry into the Captain Tom Foundation last year over decisions that "may have generated a significant profit" for a different company run by the couple.

It said Club Nook Ltd had been given the "opportunity to trademark" variations of the name 'Captain Tom' without objection from the charity, which raised money from branded products including gin and t-shirts.

The charity regulator previously turned down an application for Ms Ingram-Moore to become the foundation's chief executive on a £100,00-a-year salary.
