Food shortages in FULL: Every restaurant impacted by shortages - and how it affects you

       The shortage of lorry drivers has been cited as one of the major causes of the food shortage currently wreaking havoc with the food supply in the UK. Empty shelves have become more common in supermarkets, but food outlets and restaurants have also reported some shortages.

       There have been reports of a shortage of some products in the following food outlets:

       Popular pub chain Wetherspoon's has reported shortages of some of its beer products.

       Wetherspoon’s spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “We are experiencing some supply problems with both Carling and Coors, which means that some pubs do not have the products available.

       “We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused. We know that the brewers are trying to resolve the issue.”

       Iconic chicken brand KFC also recently acknowledged it was suffering from supply issues.

       In a post on Twitter, KFC said: "Just a heads up that across our country, there's been some disruption over the last few weeks - so things may be a little different when you next visit us.

       "You might find some items aren't available or our packaging might look a little different to normal. We know it's not ideal, but we're working hard to keep things running smoothly."

       Those hoping for a milkshake or a bottled drink at fast-food brand McDonalds may be disappointed at the current time.

       A spokesperson for McDonald’s said: “Like most retailers, we are currently experiencing some supply chain issues, impacting the availability of a small number of products.

       "Bottled drinks and milkshakes are temporarily unavailable in restaurants across England, Scotland and Wales.

       “We apologise for any inconvenience, and thank our customers for their continued patience.

       "We are working hard to return these items to the menu as soon as possible.”

       And Peri-Peri chicken brand Nando's had to shut or reduce the opening hours of several restaurants recently due to food delivery delays.

       A spokesperson said: "We expect to see this having a positive impact on the affected restaurants very soon, so please bear with us whilst we do everything we can to get our famous PERi-PERi chicken back where it belongs – on your plates!"

       Bakery chain Greggs has also suffered from poultry shortages like other food outlets.

       Some Costa Coffee outlets have not been offering decaffeinated coffee beans in recent weeks.

       The company said on Twitter: “We are facing some supply chain issues just now.

       “We’re working hard to resolve this ASAP.”

       While Pizza Hut UK wrote on Twitter: "Some of our Huts are experiencing temporary stock delays on a small number of products.

       "This is due to the knock-on effects from suppliers who have unfortunately been impacted by the lorry driver shortage in the UK."

       Some have also reported shortages of Yorkshire puddings at Toby Carvery.
