KUALA LUMPUR: Compound notices amounting to RM36,000 were issued to patrons and owners of premises following raids on three entertainment outlets in the city.
Kuala Lumpur Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Azman Ayob said 33 patrons and three owners were issued RM1,000 compound notices each for violating the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) on Thursday (Feb 24).
"Activities in pubs and nightclubs are still prohibited," he said in a statement on Friday (Feb 25).
Since Jan 1, KL JPJKK had issued RM406,000 worth of compound notices to owners of entertainment outlets as well as patrons for their failure to adhere to the SOP, SAC Azman said.
"We urge the public to comply with the SOP to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
"We will step up such operations to ensure compliance to the SOP," he added.
