       KUWAIT CITY, April 6: The Kuwaiti medical relief team stationed in Gaza, operating under the Kuwaiti Relief Society, has conducted 120 surgical procedures over the past two days at the European Hospital in the Gaza Strip. The operations spanned various medical specialties and aimed to aid patients and injured individuals in the region.

       Omar Al-Thuwaini, Deputy Director General of the Kuwaiti Relief Society and leader of the Kuwaiti medical relief team in Gaza, credited the success of these operations to the generous contributions of the Kuwaiti people. He highlighted the ongoing support provided by the Kuwaiti populace through the Fazaa campaign, emphasizing its significance in bolstering the resilience of the Palestinian population amidst ongoing attacks and siege within Gaza.

       “These achievements have been instrumental in saving the lives of numerous individuals in the Gaza Strip,” stated Al-Thuwaini, underscoring the critical impact of the relief efforts on the local community. He also affirmed the team’s commitment to implementing further relief projects to aid displaced individuals in the region.

       Mahmoud Al-Mesbah, head of the relief and projects sector at the Kuwaiti Relief Society and administrative coordinator of the Kuwaiti relief team, elaborated on additional initiatives undertaken by the team. In addition to the surgical operations, the team facilitated various food projects benefiting approximately 25,000 affected and displaced individuals within the Gaza Strip.

       Al-Mesbah outlined the scope of these food projects, which included setting up breakfast tables for 790 Palestinian families, distributing 540 vegetable baskets, and providing 1,250 breakfast meals to displaced families. Additionally, the team visited meat warehouses within the Gaza Strip to assess further avenues for assistance.

       The Kuwaiti relief team, comprising 11 Kuwaiti doctors and administrators, arrived in the Gaza Strip last Monday via the Rafah land crossing in the south of the region. Their multifaceted efforts aim to address the urgent medical and humanitarian needs of the local population amidst ongoing challenges and hardships.
