SIBU: Two days of heavy rain have caused three houses in Kampung Seduan to be inundated on Wednesday (Jan 12).

       Occupants from two of the houses however refused to be evacuated to a relief centre at Kampung Jeriah Hall when firemen came to assist the flood victims.

       Another family agreed to be evacuated. They comprise 10 people including two children and a baby.

       The state Fire and Rescue Department said those from the two families who had opted to stay comprised 14 people including four children.

       Following a distress call, the Sungai Merah Fire and Rescue Station deployed 10 firefighters led by operation commander Shairulnizam Wailie to evacuate the affected residents.
