PUTRAJAYA: The Medical Device Authority has cancelled the conditional approval given to two companies over concerns about the safety of their Covid-19 self-test kits.

       The companies are Innovac Technology Sdn Bhd and Conan Medical Technology Berhad.

       In a Facebook post on Monday (April 11), the authority said the cancellation was because the companies had failed to follow the approval conditions it had set.

       “The cancellation is with immediate effect. The MDA advises consumers not to purchase or use Covid-19 self-test kits that do not meet our requirements, fearing that it may not be safe for use,” it said on Monday (April 11).

       Although it did not name the brands in its statement, the MDA had posted two photos of the self-test kits.
