Actress and host Jasmine Suraya Chin (pic) is now immune to constant criticism of what her detractors say are revealing outfits, especially the latest one she wore that appeared on her Instagram.

“As far as criticism goes, it is rather normal for me,” said Jasmine, 32, who defended her latest picture by saying that she wore the dress while modelling for an international brand.

“The garment was actually designed by a local fashion designer for me to promote Dior Beauty lipstick. I also worked with Dior, so I believe that my fans will understand why I wore it,” she told Harian Metro.Jasmine added that she had been filming the Ratu Tenpin 2 drama for a few months.

“I played Shalin Zulkifli and I had to appear a little tanned in the drama. Filming took 70 days, during which I did not have time to do any advertising campaigns with brands. I only managed to do some photoshoots after filming wrapped up,” she said, adding that she was grateful for the opportunity to work with the brands.

“I’m the first to everreceive this product from Dior Beauty, and am considered the ‘face’ of this new collection. Sometimes, people only see the negative side of things, and not the positive,” she added.

       >A diploma student in his final year from Port Dickson’s Uniti College was forced to postpone his practical training in order to take care of his mother who is suffering from Stage 4 brain cancer.

Muhammad Adib Afham Talib, 22, from Kampung Kemat, Hulu Terengganu, changed his plans after his mother, Fudziaton Yunus, 51, was diagnosed earlier this year.

He told Utusan Malaysia that he has been caring for his family since his stepfather’s passing. He is also in charge of caring for his seven-year-old stepbrother, Muhammad Aniq Darwish Zulnadi.

“My mother had recovered from colon cancer after 12 sessions of chemotherapy and surgery back in 2017, but her health deteriorated again since the end of last year.

“She often complained of having headaches and couldn’t speak clearly.

“She can’t take care of herself now, and needs to wear diapers, so I need to give up my practical training, which is required for finishing my Diploma in Halal Industry Management, in order to take care of her,” he said.

According to Muhammad Adib, he was working in a poultry farm nearby to support his mother and brother, but had to quit because of his mother’s deteriorating health.

“We can now only rely on the remaining savings and the aid of RM300 per month from the Social Welfare Department,” he said.
