KUALA LUMPUR: UEM Edgenta Bhd 's sub-subsidiary Opus International (M) Bhd has entered into a collaboration with PPES Consults Sdn Bhd to provide project management and engineering design consultancy services to projects via a joint venture firm.

       In a bourse filing, UEM Edgenta said the JV firm, Opus Consultants Sdn Bhd, is currently a wholly owned subsidiary of Opus International, and whose principal activity is to provide management and engineering consultancy services.

       Following the tie-up, PPES will control 51% equity interest in the company while Opus International will own the remaining 49%.

       According to UEM Edgenta, the parties will be able to collaborate and share resources to participate in mega infrastructure projects in Sarawak.

       "The Proposed Joint Venture is expected to support the development of local engineering expertise in the

       State of Sarawak," it added.
