A WOMAN has been sexually assaulted by two men in a churchyard as cops urgently hunt the attackers.

       The 19-year-old was reportedly attacked in St Michaels Church yard, Helston, Cornwall, between 2am and 3am on Sunday, July 9.

       Cops are now searching for witnesses who they believe interrupted the assault.

       A man and a woman helped the victim following the horror, say Devon and Cornwall Police.

       Inspector Christopher Donald said: “We have launched an investigation following a serious sexual assault in Helston.

       “The victim is currently being supported by specialist officers and at this time no arrests have been made.

       “It is believed that the assault was interrupted by a man and a woman who were in the area and came to the aid of the victim; at this time, they have not made themselves known to police.

       “It is vital that we identify and speak to this couple as they could have information vital to the investigation.”
