TOKYO -- A total of 17 individuals affiliated with the Tokyo Games, including one athlete, have newly tested positive for the coronavirus, the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games revealed on July 24.
The total number of games-related people confirmed infected has now reached 123 since the organizing committee began disclosing figures on July 1. The committee also revealed that the three athletes announced July 23 as having the coronavirus were a taekwondo athlete from the Netherlands, a Czech beach volleyball player, and a male road cyclist.
