Three teenagers were shot, one of them fatally, in unrelated attacks over a roughly 13-hour period beginning Wednesday afternoon, Chicago police said.
Officers first were called to an alley in the 600 block of East 106th Street in Roseland around 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, where a 19-year-old man had been standing when someone fired at him, police said. He was shot in the chest and back and he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he died.
He was identified as Keon Binion, 19, of the 15300 block of Dante Avenue in Dolton, who was pronounced dead at 5:07 p.m., according to information from the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
A 14-year-old boy was shot as he sat inside his home in the 100 block of East 119th Place in West Pullman around 12:35 a.m. Thursday, according to a police notification.
The teen had been sitting in his living room when a bullet traveled through the window and struck him in the abdomen, police said. He was transported to Comer Children’s Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
Then, in Jackson Park Highlands around 5 a.m., a 17-year-old boy was shot in his right calf, according to police. The teen had been walking in the 6900 Block of South Jeffery Boulevard when he heard gunshots and realized he’d been hit.
He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition, officials said.
No arrests had been made in any of the cases and all remain under investigation, police said.
