TWO hundred farmers will be recipients of two dairy cows each.
The programme undertaken by the National Unity Ministry will help the farmers generate income, Makkal Osai reported.
The Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (Mitra), which functioned under the ministry, will arrange for the Friesian cows.
This breed of cows is said to produce the largest amount of milk in the world.
The handing over of the cows to the first batch of beneficiaries took place at Ladang Ternakan Amran in Kluang, Johor.
National Unity Minister Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique and Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan attended the ceremony.

Sajat Dangal from Kerala went to Abu Dhabi with Malayalam actress Rani Chandra’s troupe for a series of shows.
On their return, the plane crashed in Mumbai, killing 95 passengers including the actress and her team.
Sajat was not on the same flight but suffered from mental trauma when he learnt that his entire team had died.
