COPS have arrested a man who was wanted in relation to an assault after a missing three-year-old girl was found.

       A desperate search was launched for Simon Cooney, 35, and the girl by police on Monday.

       She was later found outside her home in Blackpool.

       Today cops found Cooney, and revealed he has been arrested on suspicion of assault, ABH and criminal damage.

       A spokesperson for the police said: “At the weekend we asked for your help locating Simon Cooney, aged 35.

       “A 35-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of assault - ABH and criminal damage. He has been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.

       “Many thanks for your help with our appeal.”
