KUANTAN: The number of Covid-19 cases that peaked after Hari Raya Aidilfitri should serve as a lesson especially with Hari Raya Aidiladha around the corner, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pic).
He reminded the public not to cross state borders during Aidiladha next week as the states nationwide are still in Phases One or Two of the National Recovery Plan, where inter-district and interstate travel are not allowed.
"I hope we can all take a lesson from the cases that happened after Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
"Even when the standard operating procedures then did not allow interstate travel, there were still many who secretly travelled using jalan tikus (hidden trails).
"There were whole families in Terengganu that got infected and some who died," Ismail Sabri said after inspecting the vaccination centre at Dewan Jubli Perak Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah here on Friday (July 16).
"Even if you are good at evading the roadblocks, you may not evade the disease," he said in asking the public to be patient.
