KUALA LUMPUR: Ireka Corp Bhd’s external auditors Messrs Crowe Malaysia PLT has submitted its resignation to the company.

       The construction engineering company said it received a written notice from Crowe indicating their intention to resign as its external auditors.

       “The matter was tabled at a special audit committee meeting held today where after a board resolution was circulated and the board accepted the said resignation, as recommended by the Audit Committee,” Ireka said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

       The company said Messrs Crowe explained that their resignation was due to Crowe's lack of sufficient resources to perform their auditing services throughout their clientele.

       “Messrs Crowe was re-appointed at the last annual general meeting of the company held on Sept 28, 2021 to hold office as the external auditors until the conclusion of the forthcoming AGM.

       “The company will immediately appoint another audit firm as the new external auditors,” it added.
