Campaigners are calling for a ban on the promotion of elephant rides and dolphin shows abroad to be brought into force immediately.
The Animals Abroad Act, which prevents the advertising and sale of tourist attractions that exploit animals, was passed into law last year.

But the legislation is yet to be implemented as regulations specifying the activities that will be banned still need to be drawn up by the Government.
Polling for Save The Asian Elephants shows the majority of the public supports the law and believes its implementation should be a high priority.
The charity's CEO Duncan McNair, who is also the co-ordinator of a coalition of animal protection organisations, said: "The coalition I lead has already provided abundant evidence to our Government of the heart-breaking cruelty being inflicted on most of the world’s iconic species in the name of tourism 'fun' and profits.

"Without change few will survive beyond the end of this century.
"It is important to the coalition that the intense lobbying against change of those who seek to defend the cruel exploitation of vulnerable animals in tourism does not prevail.
"A new independent poll Save The Asian Elephants has just obtained yet again shows that Britons are four-square behind these measures and regard them as a very high priority for implementation by our government.
"Our aim remains to help steer the market from brutality towards ethical and sustainable practices for the good of numerous endangered species and of so many tourists and others who are catastrophically injured and killed by captive wild animals who react when tortured and abused.

Polling of 2,098 British adults by Electoral Calculus earlier this month found 79% said they support the law and 55% said it should be a high priority for the Government to implement.
