A Prince George’s County police officer was suspended by the department over the weekend after allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash, authorities said.
According to the Prince George’s Police Department, the officer, who has not been publicly identified, hit a vehicle that has not been located before crashing into a house on Old Branch Avenue on the evening of Sept. 3. The off-duty officer fled in an unmarked Prince George’s police cruiser, the department said.

Police were called to the accident scene about 8:45 p.m.
The officer turned himself in the following morning, authorities said, and has been suspended pending an investigation.
