PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded another 4,854 Covid-19 cases, the Health Ministry reported on Sunday (Nov 21).
In a Twitter post, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said cumulatively, the country had recorded 2,586,601 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began.
Earlier, the Health Ministry had said through its CovidNow portal that a total of 41 new Covid-19 fatalities were recorded on Saturday (Nov 20), bringing the cumulative death toll to 29,978.
Of the number, six deaths were classified as “brought-in-dead”.
The number of active cases currently stands at 69,485 cases, with 79.7% or 55,346 being patients with mild infections who are undergoing home quarantine.
Another 8,004 or 11.5% patients are those under isolation at low-risk quarantine centres (PKRC) while the number of those being hospitalised are 5,606 or 8.1%.
There are currently 268 patients in intensive care units (ICU) who do not require ventilator support, while another 261 are on ventilators.
