ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has introduced new rules to track and monitor oil and lubricant products being exported to Afghanistan.
The new rules also apply to trans-shipments as well as cargo imported into or exported from Export Processing Zones, Special Economic Zones, or Free Zones. The rules were notified through a customs notification SRO996 of 2023 issued on Thursday.
The process for issuing licences is thorough and well-established. A high-ranking committee, led by the Director General of Transit Trade in Karachi and consisting of nine senior officers from various customs field formations across the country is responsible for overseeing the process.
