PETALING JAYA: Necessary academic intervention must be carried out by all universities in the country to ensure they are up to date with the needs of the fourth industrial revolution (IR4.0), says Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Dr Ahmad Masrizal Muhammad.
Dr Ahmad Masrizal stressed on the need to improve digitalisation in higher education, which emphasises importance on elements such as the Internet of Things (IOT), Cyber-physical systems (CPS) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
He saida this in a statement on his official visit to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in Bangi on Wednesday (Sept 8).
He was accompanied by Higher Education Ministry's deputy chief secretary (management and development) Datuk Rosli Yaakub and the ministry's director-general Datuk Prof Dr Husaini Omar.
They were welcomed by UKM vice chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Ekhwan Toriman and the university's higher management staff.
