Question Time: Audience member criticises Nicola Sturgeon
Nicola Sturgeon was torn apart by a young Question Time audience member this week, sparking a loud round of applause from the Scottish audience.
Alexander asked the panel the first question, of whether the inquiry has exposed a lack of transparency in the Scottish Government.
After listening to SNP MSP Kate Forbes' answer, presenter Fiona Bruce asked Alexander for his own opinion and he didn't hold back.
Asked whether he was referring to the mass deletion of WhatsApp messages and the failure to minute crucial meetings, he said: "Like so many I was so utterly disappointed in the Scottish Government’s conduct”.
"I watched a lot of the inquiry, through my hands - it was that bad.”

Spectator editor Fraser Nelson, denied that the week had been a “gotcha moment” for the SNP, but said it had highlighted major questions about how Scotland is governed.
He told the Glasgow audience: “This is about why there was a culture of secrecy right at the heart of the Scottish Government’s approach.
“Yes it’s certainly true, Nicola Sturgeon promised the Covid bereaved families she would not delete anything; in fact she was systematically and routinely deleting these messages - we know that now.

“It wasn’t just her! Last week we heard from a senior Scottish civil servant who was saying that deleting messages was his pre-bed ritual. Another civil servant saying ‘plausible deniability are my middle names’ - a civil servant said that!
“So what we’re seeing isn’t just one woman deleting messages, this is a culture of the way that decisions were made and records were deleted to stop people finding out what was happening after.”

Labour’s shadow Scottish secretary Ian Murray also won widespread audience support tearing into the SNP after a bruising week, accusing Nicola Sturgeon of standing “in front of a camera during the daily press conferences that she had, and she said directly to that camera - to the families of those grieving over lost loved ones - that she would keep all the evidence and WhatsApp messages”.
“On the same day she was deleting them! So that’s about the trust in Government.
“We had the national clinical director giving advice to Humza Yousaf who was the Health Secretary and how he didn’t have to wearing his mask… these are all things coming out in the messages we do have! Imagine what’s in the ones we don’t.”
