PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 18,762 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing the cumulative total to 1,765,016.
Of the 18,762 new Covid-19 cases, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said 18,432 cases were in Categories 1 and 2 while 330 cases were in Categories 3 to 5.
Of this daily total, 18,757 cases were locally transmitted while the remaining five were imported cases.
Also, 8,640 cases had no history of being vaccinated, 4,706 cases received at least one dose, while 5,416 cases had completed their vaccination.
Khairy said the country recorded 21,073 recoveries bringing the cumulative number to 1,482,800 since the outbreak began early last year.
Active Covid-19 infections now stand at 265,274 cases.
Currently, 1,007 patients are in intensive care, with 464 requiring ventilator support.
The country also recorded 278 deaths with 65 being brought-in-dead cases.
There were also 42 new clusters, bringing the cumulative active clusters in the country to 1,494.
