PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 26,701 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday (Feb 17), bringing the cumulative total to 3,138,215.

       According to the Health Ministry's CovidNow portal, this brought the number of active cases to 217,782, with 204,876 (94.1%) in home quarantine, 5,571 (2.6%) in quarantine centres and 7,335 (3.36%) in hospitals.

       Of those in hospitals, 216 are in the ICU with 141 needing ventilator support.

       A total of 39 deaths was also recorded on Thursday with 17 of them classified as Brought in Dead (BID).

       This brings the death toll to 32,239.
