KUALA LUMPUR: The Defence Services Asia (DSA) and National Security Asia (Natsec) 2022 exhibitions have officially begun on Monday (March 28).
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin officiated at the opening ceremony of the event held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec), flanked by dozens of foreign dignitaries and senior military officials.
The four-day event is the biggest defence industry exhibition in the region and will see around 25,000 visitors from more than 50 countries.
The event was held after a hiatus for its 2020 edition due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, DSA said in keeping with the new norms and advancement of technological and connectivity, DSA 2022 and Natsec 2022 would be complemented by a virtual platform as a value-added component to help participants access the contents before, during and after the show.
“Over 1,170 companies from the global defence and security sectors of more than 54 countries are expected to participate.
“Some 40,000 visitors are also expected at the event. To date, 70% of the space bookings at DSA 2022 and Natsec 2022 have been confirmed,” it said in a statement.
