At least three robberies happened overnight Wednesday on the North Side at businesses near closing hours, Chicago police said.
About 11:22 p.m., a woman told police she was closing down a restaurant in the 2500 block of West Lawrence Avenue when a male entered the business and demanded money from the cash register. She complied and the robber fled the scene, police said.
Three minutes after the Lawrence Avenue robbery, a 33-year-old man was robbed while he was closing down a bar in the 4700 block of North Rockwell Street. The robber approached the counter and demanded money from the cash register then fled the scene, police said.
