       KUWAIT CITY, Aug 30: The Ministry of Health is preparing to give booster dose to the elderly, cancer patients, those with chronic diseases and those who have undergone organ transplants, reports Al-Qabas daily. The daily quoting government sources said the ministry will start sending messages to this category of people at the end of September. Government sources said after completion of vaccinating what it called the ‘target group’ messages will be sent to all groups, indicating the third dose at the moment is optional. Speaking about the vaccination for schoolchildren between 12 and 15 years, the sources said about 300,000 students are expected to be vaccinated before the start of the school year next October.

       The sources stressed the need for the parents and the elderly who refuse to be vaccinated, to hurry and take the vaccine, because there is a possibility of getting infected with the virus through their children even if they remain put in their homes, which means it is time to be cautious. The sources concluded that the number of those receiving the second dose of the vaccine is about 80,000 per day.

       The Ministry of Education is currently coordinating with its Interior counterpart to address the problem of stranded teachers as part of preparations for the new school year, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources from the educational sector. Sources affirmed entry visas are being issued for teachers with expired residency permits, revealing that about 400 teachers need visas to enter the country and then carry out residency procedures. Sources clarified that teachers with valid residence permits can enter the country and they should submit proof of stay outside the country, indicating the issuance of entry visas for stranded teachers will be done in batches. Sources added the first batch consisting of 55 entry visas were issued last week, while the rest of the payments will be completed within this week and next week; affirming the ministry is hoping to finalize related procedures before the new school year.
