IPOH: Volunteers for the Covid-19 Phase Three Clinical Trial Research can check their respective MySejahtera app for their vaccination status and digital certificates now.
National MCA public service and complaints bureau vice-chief Low Guo Nan said he has already received his digital certificate and "fully-vaccinated" status updated on the mobile app on Thursday (Oct 21).
Low said though the app had stated the words "Clinical Research Centre", he believed the certificate and status are still valid and recognised.
"It (the status) is similar to those who had completed their vaccination via the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.
"I believe the 3,000 volunteers will also be getting their digital certificates from now," he said in a statement on Friday (Oct 22).
"Should they still encounter problems, they can contact their respective clinical research officers," he added.
Low had been calling on the government to give recognition and update the vaccination status for the volunteers since September to avoid issues with the authorities.
Low, who is also a volunteer, said he had been informed by the clinical research officer about the status update earlier this month.
"I was told that all volunteers will get their status updated on the 14th day after the last and fourth dose has been administered.
"Mine had not shown on the 14th day, which was last week, and I had been advised to register on the app for a vaccination appointment for the status to be updated," he said.
"I got an appointment at a polyclinic two days later and explained to them about my situation to cancel my appointment, but my status remained unchanged.
"On Thursday, I used the Helpdesk function in the MySejahtera app and was informed in the evening by the clinical research officer to refresh the app before I finally got my certificate and status updated," he added.
