MELAKA: Confusion has arisen over a closure order purportedly issued by the Health Ministry on Perikatan Nasional's Telok Mas operations centre.

       According to a photograph of the notice shared with The Star, the operations centre for Perikatan candidate Datuk Rafiq Naizamohideen has been ordered to close temporarily due to the detection of Covid-19 on the premises.

       The notice stated that the centre will be closed effective Friday (Nov 12) until Nov 27.

       When contacted on Friday, Melaka Perikatan election campaign coordinator Badrul Hisham Shaharin also confirmed that the centre has been told to close.

       However, the Health Ministry has denied issuing any statement on the closure of the operations centre.

       "The press release is fake and was never issued by the Health Ministry.

       "Please do not share the fake statement," the ministry said on Facebook and Twitter.
