PETALING JAYA: Since the announcement of relaxations for the fully vaccinated, citizens have been delighted to resume dining in at their favourite restaurants again.
For Nur Yasmeen Eryka Zulkefli,18, however, she could only join her family from the car as she was not yet fully inoculated, reported mStar.
“I received my second dose of the vaccine on Saturday, my status showed I was partially vaccinated. I can’t enter the restaurant.
“I have been craving the apam manis here as I last visited this restaurant a year ago,” she said.
Yasmeen added that she earlier accompanied her family members who went jogging at Taman Tasik Shah Alam.
She was also unable to join them as she had just received her second dose of the vaccine and instead waited in the car before heading for breakfast together.
“Everyone but myself was able to dine in as they have been fully vaccinated,” she said.
This saw her father, who initially parked at a distance from the restaurant, moving their car to an empty parking space facing their table.
This allowed Yasmeen to “dine in” with them from the car. “We could not just leave her alone so we ordered apam manis and a pack of iced milo before delivering it to her.
“At that time, we were already at the restaurant for about 40 minutes and planned to order more food but pitied Yasmeen who was waiting in the car,” said mother Noor Aishah Amirulizan.
Aishah praised the restaurant staff for abiding by the SOP which increased their confidence in returning to the premises.
Yasmeen, who is currently pursuing a Diploma in Management at the Management and Science University (MSU), Shah Alam, said that dining in the car was a new experience.
“I was jealous at not being able to dine in with them but at least I joined them by eating my favourite apam manis in the car. But, I will follow the SOP,” she said eagerly.
