PETALING JAYA: Twenty-two patrons of a restaurant were issued with a RM2,000 compound notice each for dining at the premises in Dataran Mentari, Sungai Way.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the restaurant's 26-year-old manager was issued with a RM10,000 compound notice for allowing customers to dine following the raid at about 7.45pm Monday (Aug 16).
"Twenty-two customers -15 men and seven women - were eating when we raided the premises.
"We also seized 10 bottles of liquor as the manager failed to produce the proper licence," he said when contacted on Tuesday (Aug 17).
Initial investigations revealed that the customers entered the premises from the back entrance while the front entrance remained closed, he added.
"We hope business owners and customers will adhere to Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP).
"Not compliance with the SOP will contribute to the failure of curbing the spread of the virus," he said.
