PETALING JAYA: The Road Transport Department has extended the discount period for the payment of compounds until Dec 15.

       The announcement was made on Friday (Dec 10) on their Facebook page, and in it JPJ recommended that all compounds be paid in a cashless manner.

       It added that the discount was valid at all state JPJ counters, divisions and Urban Transformation Centres (UTC).

       Over the last two days crowds had assembled at KLCC after both the police and JPJ announced discounts of up to 80% for selected compounds.

       However the counters were closed as of Friday afternoon after an overwhelming public response brought about concerns of Covid-19 SOP non-compliance.
