Fran Hall from the Covid 19 Bereaved Families for Justice criticised the PM in relation to his apology for the May 2020 Downing Street party at Prime Minister’s Questions yesterday. Bereaved three weeks after marrying her husband Steve who died from coronavirus in 2020, she told BBC Newsnight she was “disgusted” by Mr Johnson's comments.

       She said: “Like many other people offended and disgusted at the way he chose to word the apology he was going to give.

       “It wasn’t an apology he didn’t say sorry he basically gaslit the entire nation by saying that the event that was illegal at the time was a work event and not a party.

       “We all know that’s not true.”

       Ms Hall was then asked by presenter, Kirsty Wark, if there was any form of apology, she would have accepted.

       In response she said that she would have accepted an apology from the PM which was more sincere and had been delivered sooner.

       “If he had done it at the time and at any point up until Monday.

       “When he was smirking, laughing and not answering the question but actually all he was doing today was trying to save his own skin.”

       Kirsty Wark went on to ask Ms Hall if she blamed other members of the Government for the fiasco.

       In response Ms Hall said that she saw every Conservative MP as complicit in Mr Johnson’s failure to tell the truth.

       She said: “Every single person that sat alongside him or behind today in the House of Commons is complicit in supporting him telling a lie”.

       An email shared with ITV News shows from the Prime Minister’s Private Secretary Martin Reynolds, has provided concrete evidence that a party took place on 20 May 2020.

       Sent to over 100 employees, the email invites them to “socially distanced drinks” in the Downing Street Garden.

       Around 40 people are believed to have attended including the PM and his wife Carrie.

       On 20 May 2020, under lockdown rules Brits were only able to meet one other person outside while maintaining a social distance of 2 metres.
