IPOH: Milk powder for newborns and toddlers are among the items being made available to the needy here by Gopeng MCA.

       The division’s vice chairman Cally Ting said they decided to add milk powder to its food aid programme after people made such requests.

       “During our food aid distribution programme, we received requests for milk powder from families with young children.

       “Milk powder is among the higher-priced food necessities in a household with kids that is not included in the food boxes.

       “After a division meeting, we decided to include milk powder as part of our programme,” she said here yesterday.

       Ting said the division purchased 200 packets of milk powder.

       “We have two options. Milk powder for children below 12 months and for those between one and three years.

       “Each child will be entitled to two packets,” she said, adding MCA had already given out milk powder to 10 children in earlier programmes.

       She said the area of coverage was within the Gopeng parliamentary constituency.

       Ting said those who need the milk powder would be required to contact the division via WhatsApp.

       “They just need to let us know the name, address, phone number and the type of milk powder needed. It is open to all.

       “There’s also no need to explain or show proof of your financial situation. Just let us know that you need the food aid and milk powder and we will be there,” she added.
