PETALING JAYA - The woman who filmed herself kissing dough at The Mid Valley outlet of Auntie Anne’s has now been dismissed from chicken chain Nando’s.
Nando’s Malaysia said the individual did not disclose her previous work experience during the hiring process.
“She reported for her first shift earlier today (Thursday, Oct 17) and subsequently proceeded to publish photos of confidential areas of our restaurant to her social media channel, which is a clear violation of our company policies,” Nando’s said in a Facebook post late on Oct 17.
“She has been dismissed with immediate effect and left the restaurant premises.”
Nando’s said that given the individual’s employment history, the company subsequently took precautions by conducting a thorough disinfection and deep cleaning of the outlet.
“We have also checked in with our team to ensure that no further issues arise from this incident.
“We truly appreciate your support, concern and swift action in supporting us to uphold our standards of safety, the well-being of our staff, customers and wider community,” it added in the statement.

The woman was dismissed as a staff member from Auntie Anne’s after posting a video of herself kissing pretzel dough.
It was then widely claimed on social media that she tried to seek employment with an ice cream chain.
On Oct 17, she posted a photo of herself and a colleague, with a caption in Chinese saying: “Today I am working at Nando’s (outlet in a Kuala Lumpur mall)“.
Her actions prompted social media users to inform Nando’s Malaysia that she was working at one of its outlets. THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
