A vehicle struck a bicyclist who was riding against a traffic signal Wednesday night on Grand Avenue at DuSable Lake Shore Drive in the Streeterville neighborhood, Chicago police said.
About 8:35 p.m., a 47-year-old woman driving a 2020 Honda van hit a 32-year-old man who was riding his bicycle westbound on Grand Avenue, according to a police notification. The bicyclist did not stop for traffic at a red light, police said.
He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital by the Chicago Fire Department in critical condition.
No other injuries were reported. The Major Accidents Unit is investigating.
No citations were issued.
