Chicago woman accused of drunken driving in car crash that injured 5 kids and killed a baby

       A 26-year-old Chicago woman was arrested Monday and accused of drunken driving in a June crash in Lisle that injured five children and left a baby dead, according to the Illinois State Police.

       Alexus K. Sigle was charged with aggravated driving under the influence resulting in death and aggravated driving under the influence resulting in great bodily harm. She was being held at DuPage County Jail.

       A green 2017 Dodge Ram lost its truck bed cover while traveling northbound on Interstate 355 near Ogden Avenue, according to state police. The driver pulled over to get the bed cover from the right lane. Sigle, who was driving a gray 2011 Hyundai Sonata, is accused of losing control as she approached the bed cover, crossing all lanes of the interstate and hitting the concrete center median on the left shoulder of the roadway, state police said.

       Sigle and her seven passengers, including another 26-year-old woman, a 5-month-old boy, a 4-year-old boy, a 5-year-old boy, a 6-year-old girl, a 7-year-old girl and an 8-year-old girl, were taken to the hospital with injuries.

       A week later, the 5-month-old died.
