JOHOR BARU: A total of 64% of eligible early voters have come out to cast their ballots for the Johor state election as of 1pm Tuesday (March 8).
Earlier, Johor police chief Comm Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said that a total of 11,576 policemen and women would be involved in the process.
The Election Commission (EC) has provided 63 polling stations with 83 channels for early voters across the state.
Earlier, Johor police state election media spokesman Supt Ibrahim Mat Som said that 10,507 early voters had cast their votes as at noon Tuesday.
"“They represented about 47% of eligible early voters," he said in a statement Tuesday (March 8).
Supt Ibrahim said the total number of early voters consists of 22,532 police and army personnel as well as their spouses.
