KUALA LUMPUR: The effectiveness of Covid-19 assessment centres and the mental health of police personnel are among issues to be raised in the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday (Sept 22).
Datuk Mohd Fasiah Mohd Fakeh (PN-Sabak Bernam) will be asking Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin about the effectiveness of the Covid-19 assessment centres set up nationwide.
Khairy will also be questioned by Datuk Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid (PH-Kapar) on the status of government's hospital equipment used to treat Covid-19 patients since the pandemic outbreak.
On the other hand, Datuk Robert Lawson Chuat (GPS-Betong) wants Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin Hamzah to state the actions taken against those behind the smuggling of illegal immigrants into Sarawak.
He noted that such irresponsible acts were identified as one of the causes for the spread of Covid-19 in Sarawak.
Meanwhile, Ramli Mohd Nor (BN-Cameron Highlands) will be asking Hamzah on measures taken by his ministry to address the mental health of police personnel.
The Dewan Rakyat will also see respective ministries begin their replies on issues raised by lawmakers during the last two weeks of debates on the Royal Address.
The parliamentary meeting, which began on Sept 13, will last for 17 days till Oct 12.
