LABUAN: The management of government quarters nationwide will be further strengthened, including continuous maintenance, to ensure a conducive environment for the occupants.
"We will ensure that the government quarters under the supervision of the Property Management Division (BPH) of the Prime Minister’s Department are managed properly and the maintenance is carried out regularly,” said deputy secretary-general (management) Datuk Mohammad Ismail.
He was speaking to reporters after the Gotong-Royong Perdana BPH programme at Kampung Layang-Layangan here on Saturday (June 11).
The half-day programme involved Labuan Corporation, Fire and Rescue Department, Malaysian Civil Defence Force and occupants of government quarters.
Mohammad said the application to build 250 units of new quarters for Istana Negara and Parliament staff at Jalan Ledang, Kuala Lumpur was being considered by the federal government.
