SINGAPORE - A man is set to be charged on Aug 13 over allegedly forging documents to the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to import two vehicles.
Between May and July 2020, the director of a vehicle parallel importer, 49, allegedly forged four documents, the police said on Aug 12.
He is said to have falsified three letters issued by overseas car dealers and a vehicle certificate from a foreign authority.
These documents were submitted to LTA to support his company’s applications to register two imported vehicles, police added.
He will be charged with forgery, and obstruction of justice for allegedly deleting messages from two WhatsApp chats on his phone to hide the correspondence from the police.
If found guilty of forgery, he may be jailed for up to 10 years or fined. If found guilty of obstructing justice, he may be jailed for up to seven years, fined, or both.
