KLUANG: A two-car accident happened here on Thursday (April 28) when both vehicles tried to avoid crashing into an elephant.
Kluang Deputy OCPD Deputy Supt Abdul Razak Abdullah Sani said that the incident happened at about 9pm on Thursday at KM70 of the Batu Pahat - Mersing road.
"A 21-year-old woman stopped suddenly when she spotted the elephant crossing the road. A car behind her was unable to stop in time. Both cars were damaged but no injuries were reported," he said in a statement on Saturday (April 30).
He urged the public to be careful while driving on the road, especially as they travel for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
"Road users in the Kluang district are advised to be extra careful when driving through crossing areas of animals such as elephants, tapirs and other wild animals," he said.
