SHAH ALAM: Police have issued RM66,000 in compound notices for violations of the standard operating procedure (SOP) following a compliance operation here.
Shah Alam Deputy OCPD Supt Ramsay Embol said they began the operation at 9am on Saturday (July 3) to focus on SOP compliance, especially at factories.
"A total of 12 officers and 65 personnel members conducted the operation together with representatives from the International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti), Shah Alam City Council and Home Ministry.
"We checked 49 premises with a majority of them being factories.
"We issued five compound notices of RM10,000 for non-compliance and ordered a factory as well as a vehicle service centre to cease operations.
"We also issued six RM2,000 compound notices to workers for failing to register or scan the MySejahtera QR Code," he said, adding that during the operation, police also issued two compound notices to a motorist and passenger for travelling together in a vehicle.
He said such compliance operations would be ongoing to ensure compliance and curb the spread of Covid-19.
"Overall we observed that the compliance rate within the community in Shah Alam was good, as fewer vehicles were seen on the road and fewer people were out and about.
"We will continue to monitor compliance here to ensure everyone is following the SOP," he said.
