The bus overturned whilst completing the morning school run in North Hykeham, Lincolnshire. Fortunately, Lincolnshire Police have said no serious injuries have been reported following the incident.

       Images circulated on social media showed a double-decker bus tipped onto its side.

       The bus overturned at around 8.30am on Thursday morning.

       Two roads were cordoned off to aid emergency services in dealing with the incident, reports Lincolnshire Live.

       Police and the fire service attended the scene.

       The bus overturned on Meadow Lane in North Hykeham, on the southern outskirts of Lincoln.

       The road has now reopened.

       Police reassured worried members of the public: "We are on scene at Meadow Lane, North Hykeham following reports of an overturned school bus.

       "Thankfully there are no serious injuries reported.

       "We ask that any parents and/or guardians who are understandably concerned, do not attend the scene.

       "St. Christopher's School on Hykeham Rd is the rendezvous point.

       "We'll provide an update as soon as one is available."

       An initial police statement to Lincolnshire Live read: "Incident 91 of today's date, reported to us at 8.29am is in relation to an overturned school bus on Meadow Lane, North Hykeham.

       "Meadow Lane and Brant Road was closed at 8.43am to allow emergency services to deal with the incident."

       Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue also put out a statement about their attendance at the scene.

       They said: "We were called to this at 8.32am.

       "We just have one crew from Lincoln South on the scene who are assisting Lincolnshire Police with scene safety."

       Speaking to Lincolnshire Live, local residents spoke about the site of the crash.

       One Meadow Lane resident commented: "This road is only dangerous when people drive silly.

       “This stretch, because it is long and straight, is very difficult for people to keep the speed down.

       “That stretch of road on Meadow Lane is particularly bad. Speed cameras on there in the past but because it is a long straight road people see the police car from a long way and slow down in time.”
