KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman has received 13 police reports regarding allegations that people had been "vaccinated" with empty syringes at several vaccination centres (PPV).

       Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Abd Jalil Hassan said seven cases were reported in Kuala Lumpur, three cases in Selangor and one case each in Kedah, Perak and Melaka.

       "We are still investigating all the reports. For scams regarding the sale of vaccines, the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) is investigating," he said in a statement on Friday (July 23).

       Comm Abd Jalil reminded the public to be alert about the government's vaccine initiative to curb Covid-19 vaccine sale scams.

       "To date, vaccines are only supplied by the government through the National Covid-19 Immunisation Plan.

       "Thus, sales of vaccines through any other medium are not allowed, including online,' he added.

       He also urged the public to use social media conscientiously and avoid posting or sharing any unverified news, especially on vaccine distribution.

       "We will take stern action against any party who makes false reports on the matter," he said.
